Miss Ghana pageant organizers comment on their rejection of bleached skin lady
Inna Marian Patty, CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana pageant
News emerged over the last couple of days stating that Miss Ghana beauty pageant organizers dismissed a potential contestant at their Takoradi auditions because the lady seemed to have bleached skin.
According to a report by Joy News' Doreen Avio, the lady in question confessed to having used skin bleaching cosmetics, but said she had ( initially ) done so unwittingly.
The lady, who's identity wasn't revealed, said she had been given cream to use on her face in order to take care of "rashes" that ended up lightening her complexion.
She further stated that, upon realizing that her face had lightened, she decided to use it on the rest of her body in order to have a more uniformed skin tone. Unfortunately for the lady, even after pleading with judges to allow her to participate in the pageant, her please fell on deaf ears.
Speaking to Citi Showbiz, Exclusive Events boss, Madam Inna Marian Patty, confirmed
that the incident did, in fact, occur and explained why her outfit turned the "bleached skin" lady away.
Yes, it happened. My team told me about it. We prefer natural skin tone and not bleached. We encourage ladies to be confident, have self worth and be true to themselves. " Said the Exclusive Events CEO.
She added that her team usually advises ladies who attend their auditions on detrimental effects of skin bleaching. She added that they encouraging ladies to sop bleaching and try to heal their skin and that they could " always come back if they are interested and still meet requirements".
